Welcome to The Bevir Journal

19 Jul, 2026, No comments
Every country has a character that cannot be fully seen on a map or measured in numbers. It reveals itself through its people, traditions, craftsmanship, food, drink and the everyday stories passed from one generation to the next. Ireland is a place where the past and present exist side by side: ancient abbeys stand close to modern cities, family businesses continue long-established traditions, and independent producers create new products while remaining closely connected to their land and communities. Many people in Latvia already know Ireland as a place of travel, work or a new chapter in life. Yet beyond the familiar tourist routes lies a much broader world — independent breweries and cider makers, small whiskey distilleries, cheesemakers, chocolatiers, local markets, family businesses and people whose work helps shape the identity of modern Ireland. This is the Ireland that The Bevir Journal will explore. It will not be simply an online-store blog or a collection of promotional articles. We want to create a journal devoted to Irish gastronomy, drinks, craftsmanship, regions, traditions and people. Each article will focus on a particular story: the history of a brewery, the origins of a product, a regional tradition, a remarkable place or a person continuing a family craft. Our articles will be based on verified facts, reliable sources and respect for the people and culture we write about. Our purpose is not only to introduce Irish products, but also to show the places, histories and people behind them. The true value of a product is often found not only in its flavour or appearance, but in the landscape where it was made, the knowledge passed down through generations and the work of the people who created it. The Bevir Journal is an invitation to take a thoughtful journey through modern Ireland — beyond familiar images and tourist postcards. 555.jpg
